The St Pius X OSHC Staff Team....staff xmas elves

We have a very strong, stable, experienced work team who have been working together for a long time. We try hard to keep a balance of young energetic educators who enjoy playing with the children, along with a mix of more mature, experienced educators with parenting skills. We meet regularly as a staff team to share our skills and knowledge and identify gaps in our communication, training needs and service provision.

Our staff team is comprised of a mix of qualified and unqualified staff, while many are also undertaking studies at the same time. OSHC standards require that services have a qualified educator (Education or Care degree/diploma) for every 30 children, with a staff:children maximum ratio of 1:15 when based at the service. At St Pius X, we endeavour to aim for a ratio of 1:12, when possible to provide a better quality of care and always exceed the minimum number of qualified educators.
